Mexico; A Milestone in Puerto Vallarta

Posted by

What do you do when your daughter graduates from Law School? You rent a house in Mexico and bring her and 5 of her friends on a week’s vacation with you and your husband, of course! We headed to Real Del Mar, a coastal town about 40 minutes north of downtown Puerto Vallarta. The guys brought along their surfboards and the weather and waves were ideal.

We started out with an Italian dinner in the marina at Frescati. The warm breezes floated through the open windows as we dined on pasta and top shelf tequila. The following day, we hit the beach and began our fish, shrimp, and tuna taco lunches which happened daily, accompanied by fresh guacamole, chips, and salsa.

For dinners later in the week, we hit our favorite spot twice, Casa De Mita. It’s a luxury B & B right on the ocean and the food and ambiance are simply spectacular. A small winding dirt road gets you there. A few of the girls mentioned they’d like to have destination parties/weddings there.

For Mother’s Day, we hired a private chef to come to our home and prepare a taco bar and margaritas. It was delicious. Ben acted as “house DJ” and we had a dance party as part of the fun.

On our last day, we visited the town of Sayulita and went zip lining. What a blast! We did 13 lines at www.michaparrita.com. The guides were fantastic and helped us to go upside down, do flips, spins, and even zip through water!

Everyone was sad to return back home, but we shared our photos with each other and vowed to get together again soon. My daughter was grateful for the relaxing celebration trip before the grueling study session she is about to undertake to pass the bar exam. I was grateful for time spent with such a vibrant, caring, fun, intelligent, witty, group of people.
